(sauromatus venosum)
The flower head is the first sign of life. It looks like life from another planet but it actually derives from the tropics of Africa and Asia. A member of the Philodendron family, the Voodoo Lily 's stalk stands 3' tall and only 1" wide. As it unfurls, the inside is patterned with a rich violet and yellow color. After the bloom disappears a giant- hand shaped leaf that is 2' across emerges from the bulb on a mottled green and black stem.
It is a very exotic looking plant that will make a great conversation piece in your garden.
